Giving Columbia Pike its own Town Center, Penrose Square will include 30,000 square feet of specialty retail/restaurants, a new 47,000 square foot Giant supermarket and 300 luxury apartment homes. To be built on the site of the existing Adams Square shopping center, Penrose Square required an intensive rezoning effort requiring two years of planning with Arlington County and numerous interested neighborhood groups. The current shopping center is scheduled to be razed and construction on Penrose Square should begin in late 2007, with completion in 2009.

Right in the heart of Arlington, Penrose Square is only a few miles from Ballston, Rosslyn, Crystal City, the Pentagon, downtown Washington, DC, and all the area's major roadways.
