Over his 30-year career in real estate, Jim Mertz has been an important part of numerous real estate ventures. He's directed the acquisition, disposition, management, leasing and development of more than 10 million square feet of office, retail and multifamily projects. He has also managed portfolios spanning as many as seven states and has served in leadership positions with such companies as Cushman Wakefield, Mack Cali Realty and Patriot American.

As Executive Vice President of Carbon Thompson, Jim brings his unmatched level of expertise to the company's growing portfolio of multi-use developments. A member of the Northern Virginia chapter of NAIOP and a member of the Certified Commercial Investor Member (CCIM) Institute, Jim also has Bachelor of Business from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of North Texas. He holds both a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation as well as a CCIM designation.
